Teamwork

SOT Participation Opportunities

Join us as we Support Our Troops!   “Many hands make light work” and there’s room for your skillset! We cover it all! Shopping, packing and shipping goods to our deployed service members; monthly correspondence; active fundraising through the production of our Annual Golf Tournament and Silent Auction! Each year these get bigger and better and we enjoy each other’s company while we work together for our troops!

Deployed Troop Shipments

Each month 5 SOT Teams will shop, pack and ship boxes filled with goodies to those active duty members who deployed out of the U.S. We make sure they have plenty to share with their units/squadrons! Our Teams love to take special requests we try out best to fulfill them. Most requests are typical, like candies not available in their current location or special socks that wear better than "standard issue." We've even sent pool cues for a unit who had a pool table but no sticks! We'll try our best to accommodate whenever we can!

Cards and Letters

Hand-crafted cards (generously donated by the Robson Ranch Sassy Stampers) are sent with hand written notes.  Monthly thank you cards are sent to deployed active duty military members and quarterly to those stationed within the USA. Additionally, each receives a birthday card AND at Christmas, we send a special

gift as a token of gratitude

for their service.

ENROLL YOUR LOVED ONE!

Robson Ranch residents who have someone close to them serving as Active Duty U.S. Service Members, are encouraged to add their names to our lists! Fill out this simple enrollment form!

Primary Focus

Monthly Meetings

SOT member meetings are held at the Robson Ranch Clubhouse on the second Monday of each month at 1:00 PM. Fill out a membership form and join us! Dues are only $10 a year and cover our operating costs so that all the funds we raise can be used for our mission!

Annual Golf Tournament

2022 Sot Golf 5 3rd Low Net.jpg

Each April since 2008, we host one of our major fundraisers held at the Robson Ranch Wildhorse Course. This fun, modified scramble includes several contest prizes like “longest drive” and “closest to pin” and more! We enjoy inviting active duty service members associated with our Robson Community and are happy to cover their fees and meal costs for a much-deserved respite from military life. Click here to learn more about our golf tournament.

Annual Silent Auction

Held in conjunction with the Robson Ranch Veterans Day Program, the Silent Auction is one of our two major fundraising events of the year.

The Clubhouse hallways are lined with wonderful donations allowing us to consistently bring in over $20,000 annually! (And we have such fun behind the scenes putting it all together!)

Grand Flag Display

SOT promotes community patriotism by displaying 180 flags from the Robson Ranch Main Gate to the Clubhouse on federal patriotic holidays. Join our team to put them up or take them down (which sometimes results in impromptu get-togethers!)

Flags for Homeowners

Flag3.jpg

SOT has a U.S. Flag kit that we will install in your yard before the next flag display day. For a $60.00 donation, your kit includes a 3’ x 5’ flag, a ten-foot steel pole and an in-ground PVC sleeve. The sleeve allows for easy placement and removal of the flag. Friendly SOT members will install your flag kit for you according to HOA regulations. $20.00 of your donation is tax deductible due to the SOT IRS 501(c)(3) designation. Click here for a printable order form or contact Quinn Sowell at quinn.sowell@gmail.com for more information.

Charity Support for Active Duty Military: Operation Homefront

The mission of Operation Homefront is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities – OUR communities – they work so hard to protect.

... And a Little Extra (and a little history)

In our early days, SOT extended its reach beyond active duty military personnel to serve a broader veteran community. While our current mission parameters no longer permit such an expansive scope, we remain dedicated to honoring our legacy of support for these longstanding veterans assistance programs.

Veterans Park

VetDayMusic.jpg

Honoring Robson Ranch Veterans from WWII until the present, SOT maintains the Veterans Park, sells and installs commemorative bricks and orchestrates services on Memorial Day, Veterans Day and other appropriate private memorials. Visit this page to learn more.

Veterans Assistance Programs
(Important Note: Unfortunately, veterans assistance no longer falls within our purview so we cannot accept any new applications for support.)

We have lovingly supported these veterans charities for years and will continue to do so in the future.

  • Patriot Paws provides service dogs at no cost to disabled American veterans.

  • Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes where military & veteran families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital.

  • The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund serves U.S. military personnel experiencing the invisible wounds of war: traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress (PTS).

Guest Speakers

Are you or a friend willing to share some military-related story or at one of our meetings? We’d love to hear about it! Email Scott Cooksey, President. president@supportourtroopstexas.com

Note: We are not a veterans organization. Many of our membership have never served but simply have a heart for those who do. Therefore, we are not the demographic for any topic related to veterans benefits or events.
