180 Flags Displayed on Ed Robson Blvd
Honoring Our Flag and What It Stands For

Support Our Troops promotes community patriotism by providing volunteers to place, recover and maintain the 180+ flags in the median of Ed Robson Blvd. The grand display extends from the front gate to the Clubhouse on every designated flag holiday. Note that this opportunity is open to any interested Robson Ranch resident who would like to participate.
Flags for Homeowners
Order an SOT U.S. Flag Kit that we will install in your yard before the next flag display day. For a $60 donation, your kit includes a 3’x 5’ flag, a ten-foot steel pole and an in-ground PVC sleeve. The sleeve allows for easy placement and removal of the flag. Friendly SOT members will install your flag kit for you. $20 of your donation is tax deductible due to the SOT IRS 501(c)(3) designation. SOT EIN is 20-8107750. Questions? Email quinn.sowell@gmail.com

Retire Your Flag
Signs of a Worn-Out Flag
-
Fading: Loss of original vibrant red, white, and blue color from sun exposure
-
Fraying or tearing: Rips, holes, or unraveled edges (especially on the outer "fly" end)
-
Stains: Deep or permanent dirt, grease, or marks that will not wash out
-
Structural damage: Broken grommets, ripped headers, or split seams
Proper Retirement
-
When to act: Small tears can sometimes be mended, but once the damage is beyond simple repair, the flag must be retired.
-
Disposal methods: Under guidelines like the U.S. Flag Code, a worn flag should be destroyed in a dignified way—most traditionally and formally by burning, or through respectful burying or local recycling programs.
Where to take it:
Proper disposal is easy here at Robson Ranch. A Flag Drop Box is located on the porch of the Conway’s house at 11905 Willet Way. No notification necessary. Alternatively, many local VFW posts, American Legion branches, or scout troops host official flag retirement ceremonies or provide drop boxes for disposal.
